More handlebar talk - Samurider Type 2 replacements
#1

I should first start this question with why. I was on the CA-2 yesterday about 10 miles west of Wrightwood enjoying my 5K rpm bliss when I crested a hill and in the middle of the road was a boulder about the size of a small bowling ball. Bucked me right off and I slid and slid and then tumbled and slid. Thank goodness for armor and gear cause I'm fine and miraculously the CB sustained minor damage (wife- major damage but that's another thread...) however,my Samurider Type 2 bars are all bent up and Sumurider is out of stock of these.

I recall a few of you have had success with other Honda bars etc. My criteria is I want the lower height of the Type 2 bars and that I can install the factory weights.

Any suggestions on other bars that I can substitute? Undecided

Geez sorry to hear but glad you are ok. Was your wife on back and hurt or is she just upset?

GrabOn, that sounds pretty horrible. Is your wife OK?

The most recent bar thread was from ozigoo who put CB900 Hornet bars on his CB1100. http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=15687

Sorry to hear and I hope your wife is OK.

I'd think the CB500 bars are close replacements?

Thanks for the kind thoughts. Wife not on back. I can't do that, too much precious cargo and I would never forgive myself if something happened Heart

Yea, as Cormanus said, I just put 2009 CB900 Hornet bars on my CB. There definatley lower and 'sportier'. The center serations line up perfectly, I dont think the CB500 serations line up as well, not sure, so check it out if your pedantic like me...Can take more photos or measurements if you need, just pm me...

I'd forgotten about the CB500 bars. I'm pretty sure they've been installed without complaint. Start here http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=9867 and follow the link in the first post to ChipBeck's thread.

I'm pleased your wife is OK. Better to be upset than hurt.

If you require that the bar have the holes already prepunched (for locking the switchgear collars in place), then i think the honda brand is the only one with them

i could be wrong, but the aftermarket bars will NOT have those two holes, so drilling them in yourself, is that an option?

GrabOn, you’re not too far from Flanders. Have you checked with them?
