They will need to smog gas powered leaf blowers before they smog motorcycles. There a lot more leaf blowers than motorcycles and they put out significantly more pollution than motorcycles ever will.

I think the difference is that they can yearly assess ( tax if you will) those with motorcycles through licences, plates and registrations whereas there is no current means of assessing leaf blowers, chain saws, law mowers, weed whackers other than at initial purchase... ie motor vehicles are an easier target for the tax assessor.

Oh boy, I can see that happening. Currently, a new car does not need a smog inspection for the first eight years. But, when you pay for your registration renewal for those eight years, there is an additional $20 Smog Abatement fee stacked on top of all of the taxes, which says "since we're not making you get your car smogged this year, pay us for the convenience."

It would be easy to do the same thing for motorcycles. The added fee could immediately be implemented, saying "Since we don't have the infrastructure for motorcycle smog testing standards, testing stations and people to do it, pay us more for the convenience of knowing that we could make you get your bike smogged someday, but aren't doing it right now."

I’ve done my ECU at Guhl’s long ago. Just posted the info if someone is in need.
I think I came over a mention somewhere that CB1100 initially came out in Japan in 2008. However, I’m not sure if it’s true. Wiki says 2010…

That page just spews a lot of common jargon for ecu tuning in general- they don't show anything specific (proof) to the CB1100.

I've seen the same many times with certain cars- then you contact them and they say sorry we don't do that car.

Beware anywhere that says they can but can't proof they already have.

Nope it’s not true—at least as far as the forum’s records show. It appeared in Japan, Australia in 2010. In the USA, Canada and Europe, not until 2013.

Sadly it came to Australia only n 2010 and 2011.

Thanks for pre-testing the CB1100 out for North Americans. Thanks
