Front drive chain sprocket wear
#1
I replaced the rear chain sprocket when I replaced the drive chain, but not the front sprocket. How many miles does a front sprocket typically last before a replacement is required?

I replaced my first one at 40,000 miles and have 29,000 on that one

On my '14 std, I replaced frt and rear sprockets + rubber dampers when chain was due. Sprockets had some small visual wear, dampers almost nothing, but chain had its max stretch and a few kinking spots causing vibration mostly in 4th gear.
All were done in August/22 at 66K kms/41K miles, no regrets. OEM parts.
No commuting.

Good news. I have about 28,500 miles on my 2014 now, so I have some time before I have to tackle the problem. Thanks

The front is working more and harder than the rear. You should have replaced it too. It's going around far more often (2.47 x) than the rear. That means it gets more wear. my .02

Disclaimer voice here: The number above was achieved on a spur of the moment guess at a 17/42 sprocket ratio. Your milage may vary. TM

Yea, that's when I did it too. I also replaced the rubber dampers but I don't think it was necessary and they were like $50 if I remember right.
