Considering its "not mine", I wouldn't feel it is inappropriate for you to try and sell (list) it, especially with members like me attempting to provide a better CB1100 for some fellow member. I'll let the moderators decide.

I assume rbike means he " would" feel it inappropriate ...

Interesting problem. Members have posted links to ads on craigslist et al since the beginning of the forum. No one has raised it as an issue in the past, but I can see where it might be upsetting to a member also trying to sell their bikes in our classifieds.

I have sent a PM to the administrator and to my fellow forum moderator for input on this matter.

If it hasn't been a problem in the past and no one is putting his bike down, why is it an issue? For all we know that guy could be a forum member but chose to use craigslist as it has a larger spectrum of people.
I appreciate links of other folks selling their bikes... gives more options and locations of where these bikes are.
At the end of the day isn't that what we are trying to do.... get more guys to ride these classic CB's regardless of where they buy them from?

Heres the rub as I see it from a forum member's perspective. They have been a contributing member of the forum. Following the rules. One of the rules is you have to be a member for 2 weeks and have 25 posts in order to advertise their bike for sale here. If a member doesnt have 25 posts, and posts a bike for sale, we are obligated as moderators to delete the ad, pm the member and explain the rules. The rule was put in place in the very beginning to deter scammers, keep people from just joining to sell something, and to give the members a sense through the sellers posts of how reputable they are. All good things in my view.

Posting someone elses ad, with no posts, and no forum involvement, in a manner of speaking, violates the rules. Not in the strictest sense, but I can see where a forum member might see it as such.

At any rate I am conferring with the powers that be and we will make a decision one way or another.
