It's been a while since I've been riding, the bike kept getting worse so I figured it was time to take it in to a shop. I got the IACV replaced at Honda of Glendale for $330 in labor, I brought the IACV and O-ring I got on partsfish for $~95+tax and shipping. I was relieved, I thought it was going to be a lot more. I have to get more seat time to confirm it's fixed, but seems like it is so far, knock on wood. So for anyone wondering what the CB1100 IACV replacement cost was, I wanted to add my data point. Glad you have found comfort and be on the road again. Congratulations IaH!

Good to see you back iamheero. I hope that’s fixed it. On the basis of what others have said about what’s involved, that price seems reasonable. And worth it to have your bike back in good running order.

Nice job iamheero, good to hear the positive outcome, not many are affected and we have not had any second instances of this problem so it is definitely the fix.
So you should be fine for the next 200.000 km. well done and of course we appreciate the update very much and we were all too pleased to be of assistance to you, cheers.

I think you're right Max, I suspect this is the last time I'll be dealing with this issue! And with all the work I did on the bike PRIOR to replacing the IACV it's like a brand new bike. New spark plugs, new battery, clean air filter, new brake and clutch fluid, brake pads, new oil, new tires... It'll be with me for a long time, that's for sure.

Very happy for you! When my '14 standard was having this issue, the IACV was a suspected cause, but not the only one. When I went to my dealership to talk about the problem (which was very intermittent at the time) the service manager warned me that it wouldn't surprise him if they needed multiple hour$ to diagnose the problem if the bike failed to "act up" right away, and that the charge would not be limited to an hour of their time or a set fee to diagnose. So I didn't have them look at it. If I knew I could get it repaired for less than $500, I would have gone that route.

Thought I posted here yesterday. Must have forgotten to post the reply.
Anway, glad it's good now IAH. And thanks for the follow up.

Replace the Idle Air Control valve and the problem will be solved - believe me.
