Riko..has this cured others? Did Honda say this was a fix? Or are they flying by ear?

I'm thinking that they think the TPS may be, or is, bad. It is not available separately so they are changing out the entire thing. Bonus! you get the new TPS and IACV.

well, like I heard from the last time I picked the bike, in Holland they had a good experience by changing the IACV sensor...but its still experimental...

so nothing thats a 100% solution.

As far as other cases, I can only go on what I read on all other European forums...buts its nothing official from Honda, yet.

I just picked up my bike Excited

And according to the mechanic they changed the whole throttle body, all these parts:

Value is about $3,139.02

The ride from the dealer to home was 57 km (35 miles) and at the end did some city riding.
Previously I would notice the infamous idle problem, or at least some hints of the issue arising..

But so far so good, the idle is as stable as you would want to expect from a Honda motorcycle, lets hope it stays that way!!!!! Thumbs Up

Wow, I just found this thread. I've been having the exact same problem for quite a while. Same, when in heavy city traffic, 20-30 mins in. I've been turning the ignition Off/On to re-set it. That worked as the kill switch on Riko's bike.

I had it down to lots of things, all of my own doing, PCv, Flashed ECU, Air intake mods, Cat Free Exhaust... etc...
Quite relived to find it's not down to my tinkering but obv. not happy to have a faulty bike. Esp. as the Warranty is up next month.

I have the same model as the other faulty bikes, EX 2104.

Riko, have you had any trouble since having the throttle body ass. re-placed?

Thinking I should start some sort of warranty claim before it runs out.

Beardy, I would definitely do that. It is most likely the IACV

The reflashed ECU will void your warranty. If you reflash it to stock before going to the dealer you might be all right with that. I am uncertain as to how the removal of the catalytic converter and other modifications might affect the warranty, but the reflash will definitely have an adverse impact in that respect.

I know of some riders who keep a second ECU around (purchased on eBay or similar) to install to meet warranty or regulatory requirements.

On the other hand, if you have close relationship with your dealer you may be able to find a way around all those modifications.
