USA versus UK model
#1
A few days ago I received a 12 (!) page brochure from the UK about the CB1100.I bought it on ebay.
The biggest difference if ofcourse they have the 3 colours and we have only the red ones.I personally like the silver engine and wheels of the European models and I think that quite a few forum members would have preferred that instead of black. When I went to the Charlotte motor cycle show in feb. and asked about this at the Honda stand they said that their market research indicated that the USA market preferred the black. He pointed out that a lot of bikes in the show were in black, engine or body work.
All the bikes in the Uk come with ABS only, this will be the law in 2015 for all bikes but the smaller ones.
I hope that Honda next year will bring out a black one here but with the silver engine and wheels.
We have a CBX rally in GA this week but instead of bringing my CBX I will ride my CB1100,there is also a Japanese Vintage Bike Show in the same area at the same time, well worth going to!

I do like the silver engine with some colors, but I do prefer the black wheels with polished rims over the silver. (I personally don't care at all for the all black whees as seen in some photos.) Given the choice, I'd opt for the Red tank with the black engine/black wheels over any other combo Honda offers. I don't think the silver engine would look good with the black wheels by the way. With the white tank, I prefer the black engine/black wheels. But with the black tank (or the dark blue available elsewhere) I'd prefer the silver engine/silver wheels. So many choices (that we don't have here in the states Big Grin ).

The color combination we got was exactly the one I was hoping for. I guess I fit into the mold of Honda's market research.

The white model with the silver engine is a good looking combination, but I'm partial to red and would have picked it with the black engine even if we had the choice.

I'm a silver engine proponent, but the black isn't too bad. I'd like to see a black engine with the edges of the cooling fins silver.

I agree, I'd much rather have the engine all silver, on this type of bike you're supposed to see the motor, not hide it by making it all black . But it would help if the fin edges were polished... It's probably the one thing holding me back from getting this bike, but I may get over it, because otherwise it seems pretty awesome. It would be nice if Honda gave us an option on this.

Here in the UK we do have 3 colours red, black & white ,I have the black one which looks great as does the red but not to sure about the white version, also prefer the silver engine and silver wheels but thats all we have seen here anyway. The only thing is that honda only brought a small number of bikes to the UK and once they are sold thats it very limited numbers here for some reason.
