Damn, those seats are ugly! I ought to know, I have had 4 of them already! I have one on my current BMW R1200RT and it looks just fine, but it's a touring bike so it kind of blends in. I bet it really stands out on our CB's. They are certainly the most comfortable seat I have ever had, but I don't think I can bring myself to put one on my CB. Thankfully I won't be using mine for distance riding.

No offense to those who will have them on their bikes. And I need to remember, there are those who like the looks... You will definitely be more comfortable than me! Smile

the stock seat is horrible. of course i've never met a stock motorcycle seat that i've liked. generally changing out the seat is the single biggest difference maker in comfort. handlebar risers are a close second, but the handlebars are already pretty high on the cb1100. i've actually thought about lowering them.

I like to call this the "Goldilocks Conundrum". No matter the bike, there will always be wide variation of opinions about the seat (which I'm sure pleases the aftermarket seat makers). I recall back when the CB11 first came out, I heard complaints that the stock seat was too soft and narrow, while others thought it was hard as a rock.

Personally, I like the stock seat. Over a long distance it's slightly more comfortable that the flatter, wider seat on my CB750 (which surprised me). Usually flatter and wider is better for long distances, but for me the foam used on the CB11 seemed to make a big difference. It seems more firm and conforms to my butt better that the CB750 saddle.

So far, I've done a couple of 6 hour riding days (~300 miles mountain roads) on the CB11 and have no complaints.

I love my Kontour seat ! I can sit on it 12 hrs at a time. It's kinda pricey but worth ever penny.
