Final Rear Brake update!
#1
Okay everyone...Here it is. I took my bike it to the dealer for a few days and here is what came of it. First of all, there is nothing wrong with the rear brake. Honda said that. They (shop folk's) kept my bike for 3 days and bled and refilled with new brake fuild again! Then they moved up the rear brake petal. Then they tested the heck out of it. Much, much better!
So, nothing mechanical wrong with rear brake. Has stock pads back in and like I said before, much, much better. And, HONDA told the service man that it was a good brake. So, now everyone has it. If anyone feels like their back brake ain't right, do the things that I have done and you will be surprised. Thanks for all the great input from everyone! God bless us all and keep us SAFE Lord!!!!!

Thanks Jay,

I'll be telling my dealer this and having them do what yours did.

I also need to call Honda and cuss (nicely) about it. I would guess they know, just don't want to pay for a recall or whatever. If they get snotty I may file a gripe with the feds too... Wink

I wonder if they changed the amount of distance the pedal travels... the more it travels the more in theory it can apply more pressure...

No. the pedal travels less! ALL i can say for now is that it works much better. Jayimpalaman

I would think pedal travel would be the same no matter which position it was in, but the bleeding made it travel less be ause there was no air in the system.

Indeed, the travel will the same, however, the perceived travel will be less if they moved the pedal up. It's closer to his foot so he doesn't have to press as far down to get the same amount of brake pressure as before.

Assuming of course brake pedal adjustment is possible on this bike. I haven't had the need to do so, so I haven't seen for myself. I assume if the dealer made the adjustment for him, it is possible without changing the geometry of the plunger assembly.
