Differences between the standard and Deluxe
#11
Yes, red is currently the only option for a Deluxe model in the USA. The rest of the world gets red, black, white and a really nice silver/metallic blue. They also get the "Deluxe EX" version which includes spoke wheels.

I had a few minutes to burn after work yesterday so I drove over to the local Honda dealer. They have one black CB1100 left on the floor. I was amazed how much better the black bike looked in person, although I still feel that they went way overboard with the black wheels, engine and transmission.

I had not sat on a CB in several months so I had forgotten how petite the bike is! It is so nice to be 5'7" and sit on a "real" bike and have it feel comfortable beneath me, have my feet on floor and not instantly feel like I need to purchase handlebar risers. It was so different from the last few bikes I've owned (2 BMW GS's, and a very tall KTM dual sport).

Thanks for letting me lurk around here as a "future CB" owner, I look forward to someday sharing the pictures of my new bike with you all. Celebrate

I agree on how much better the 2014 black standard looks in person. Even under dealer lights, just take it out into the sunlight and the metallic red accents and th glossiness of that black paint will stun. I went looking for a deluxe and ended up in love with the black standard for personal taste reasons. I appreciate how both models look but enjoy my Black Beauty. I suppose it is always different strokes for different folks.

I find the standard's guages are not in the green backing but in a metalic dark grey in keeping with the overall color theme on this bike. The black wheels are wickedly beautiful and the paint on them flawless. The engine is not black. It is a contrasting dark and shiney color much like one you will find on a 2014 Corvette when ordering their dark metallic grey color and it stands out in the sunlight.

Interesting that the standard will change colors or shades depending on the lighting. It is always different and I think that is someting very intentional and one of the things that sells the "standard" 2014 CB1100. - Art

P.S. Another thing that sold me was at my 5 ft. 7.5 inches I can put flat feet on the floor and the balance seems perfect, I'm able to flick her left and right and center her easily while static. An amazingly great bike for me.

-Deluxe has silver versus he standard's black painted wheels and motor.
-Deluxe has a larger, more maroon fuel tank.
-Deluxe has chrome covers to hide discolored header pipes.
-Deluxe has a more retro looking seat.
-Deluxe has painted versus silver side panels.
-ABS is standard on the Deluxe.
-Deluxe has 4-4 versus 4-1 exhaust. (+30 pounds)

Am I missing anything?

It's getting hard to hold out much longer with the $1000 Honda Bonus Bucks and many dealers offering another $1000-1500 discount!
I have a friend who is a GM at a dealer who is willing to sell me a standard for $7000 or a Deluxe for $8999 plus tax, title and tags.
Where is this dealer I'd jump on this deal
