I said to dealer that if I'm going to be a loyal customer than either take couple hundred off or loose the fees. Most dealers on Long island will do either or. With the price of this bike I didn't haggle to much because of the promo price which is a steal but if talking about full msrp then you have to really negotiate. Some dealer's try to get you on high finance fees, extended warranty which is aslo negotiable and crazy prep charges. Honda actually sets the price the dealer should charge for set up fees. My bike was 8200 plus taxes. 250 approx in fees. Don't have paper with me. State tax 8.25%
So the original asking price was 8400! Wow, that is a heck of a starting asking price. Good deal for you USCGMAC! When I bought my DLX, the listed price on the one standard model they had was sticker! Since then, have dropped price on Cycle Trader ad.

Here in N.Y. it seems like every year the leftovers go on clearance and there are great deals to be had. A lot of these deal are promos from the manufacturer as well. I had a Z1000. Msrp was 1100. I paid 9000 the next year and negotiated no fees just tax. I was also able to negotiate 1500 off my 2014 HD Ultra which negotiating with them is almost unheard of. The point is just watch what your paying for. Be familiar with extra fees. Try not to pay msrp unless you have to have it now and can't wait and remember Japanese bikes usually have promos when they are left overs. Dealers try to add assesories to sell a bike sometimes and if out don't want them negotiate them as well. Also remember to love what you bought and just ride it and enjoy, if you payed a dollar more or less then someone else, who cares. You got what you wanted and enjoy it. Someone will always get a better deal then you and me so nickles and dimes don't matter. Try to negotiate if you can and if not then just bite the bullet if you really want it. Sometimes its all in the timming as well, time of month, time of year.

Honda officially marked the leftover '13 STD down to $7500, $2500 off. Just appeared on dealer sites here in the Northeast.

Cannot find a 2014 DLX, but they are having a fire sale on 2013s. What am I missing here?

A few weeks back, I had two dealers search Honda inventory in Texas for a 2014 DLX and found two. One was a demo unit in Kyle TX with 400 miles on it and they wanted almost full MSRP - I passed. The other "new" DLX was about 1 1/2 hours south of Houston - I bought that one. Now if I can only get my new 2014 CB1100 DLX fixed and returned to me from the Honda repair shop, I'll get to ride it!!

No word on it yet Trey? They should have been able to get ordered plugs in 3 days from Honda.

Nope. They told me best case Wednesday for the new plugs. Dealer doing the work is Powersports 59 (Team Mancuso) in Houston. The service manager said after they received the plugs on Wednesday, they would continue the "diagnosis" . . .
So I suggested this may be a two or three week process. He said yes, not uncommon for bikes to be there at their shop 3 weeks.
To say that I was flabbergasted would be an understatement. I'm used to taking my car in for service - not trivial service - for example: timing belt replacement as preventative maintenance per OEM PM schedule - and getting the car back same day.
So I'm having to get used to this notion of multi-week Honda repair service.

You should never have to get used to a multi week repair service for any modern vehicle. Maybe if you asked them to repair your 1969 Honda and they had to source the parts somewhere, but not on a 2013 or 2014 model. If the plugs don't cure the issue and they tell you to leave it with them for a couple more weeks, I'd be having an attorney write them to either demand an immediate refund, or at least to tell them that the clock started ticking on the lemon law a couple weeks ago....
