On that last video, there is a flashing light on the tach. Looks like it says something like "ETO". Anyone know what that is?
Flyn, it says ETC. Electronic Traction Control, perhaps? I've not read that it has such a thing.

A Google search on Honda ETC comes up with info on Honda Electronic Throttle Control systems. Does the new bike have ride by wire? Could it be something like that?

Funny thing, popgun, I just did a Google search on ETC too and came up with Electronic Toll Collection. Seems more likely, somehow. See [url=http://bikejapan.blogspot.com.au/2010/04/etc-electronic-toll-collection-system.html]this link which contains other links you could follow.

Well that is interesting. Maybe thats what it is. I guess if it is, it would be nice in Japan to have it built in by Honda.

Indeed.
There's a fancy Honda website, [url=http://hondamotoglobal.com/]here with a special section on the [url=http://hondamotoglobal.com/#always_the_one]2017 CB1100 here. At the bottom of the page there's a link to various country websites promoting the new model. Of course Australia doesn't feature, but neither does the US.
To add to that, check out the photos [url=http://hondamotoglobal.com/gallery/#cb1100]in the gallery.

I think you got it Cormanus. I've heard about built-in toll collection transponders on Japanese market bikes.

indeed
In almost every aspect the bike got more slick, except for that tank, I just don't like it.
Maybe you can trade the tank with someone who has a '13-'14, or buy one from Takashi?
Edit: I have absolutely no idea if this would be compatible, but just throwing it out there!

Look at that beautiful 750 in the background. How in the world, could Honda NOT put matching side covers and a more traditional looking tank on the EX in the foreground?
And RLETS like the 750 has?
