Hi, I did some googling and board searching and couldn't find a reasonably clear model history/change, even on wiki.
What got me thinking of this was looking to order a part for my 2011 and being told that the seller's item (a rear rack) only fits the 2013 model. As far as I am aware they are the same (standard) models!?
Is there a thread which shows the model changes? eg. cosmetic or other subtle changes that may not otherwise be apparent?
As far as I am aware there was the original 5-speed, then the 6-speed in standard or deluxe, now a newer standard, deluxe and RX model.
Looking forward to some replies from those with better knowledge than me

R748, try [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=29]this thread.
Please don't hold me to this, but I'd have thought 2010-2014 standard models were essentially the same. The DLX and EX models from 2014 were slightly different while all the 2017 models are at least cosmetically different.
If it's an OEM part you're after, I'd suggest checking one of the parts fiches [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=10650&highlight=Parts+fiche]here. There's an Australian one [url=http://www.peterhillhonda.com.au/honda-parts-epc]here that shows the numbers for the 2010-11 bikes imported here.

There is a subsection of the forum regarding [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=29]CB1100 History. You may find some answers there.
Is the rear rack you are considering a honda OEM model?
The [url=https://www.samurider.com/?p=13395]honda OEM rack 08L42-MGC-000 only fits the 2010-2016 standard CB1100. It will not fit the DLX/EX model. Perhaps the seller can provide you with the part number if it is a Honda OEM rack. If it's not a Honda rack, then I can't help you.

Thanks heaps for the replies guys (sorry for late response - been a busy week). The rack i'm looking at is one of these:

I like that it's slightly smaller than the OEM and has a tiny grab rail on the rear.
Anyone else bought one?

yes I have that rack. I like it mostly for looks. The "rack" is very small. I can put a rolled up rain suit on there, but not much more. That's all I bought it for looks and to carry a rain suit lol
