I am contemplating painting my CB and am wondering if anyone here has removed their Honda and CB1100 badges. Are they just stuck on with adhesive? Will I ruin them if I pry them off?
The current paint job (black 2014) is so nice I am hesitating. If I decide to do paint it, however, the project will a little out of my comfort zone, which in my experience are the most satisfying projects (if they are successful).
Thanks,
David

I know EarsOnWheels has painted his bike personally, and I think Rebel73 had his painted.

The round badges and side cover emblems are just stuck on. You could probably use dental floss to cut through the adhesive. You can buy new ones if you want.
Stripes on the tank are decals that are clear coated over.

Couldn't you also get some new double sided tape and restick them?

I would say yes. That's pretty much what holds them on. If you look at your key, the little red Honda emblem is stuck on like that. I even bought some spares as they are cool. Not flat though, slightly concave on the backside.

Great info. Thanks everyone. If I get brave enough to paint it I'll post pictures here.

I taped around the badges. Easy peasy. I think I posted pictures in a thread.

I may go that route. Right now I am weighing my options and trying to decide how adventurous I feel.
