Don't recall the model name of the 2017 model. I was just curious if anyone here has spent a fair amount of time on both of these models, and could offer any comparative differences between them.
I understand (think) that the 2017 has slightly different cam timing that gives the bike a slightly more aggressive sound, and that it also comes equipped with 'better' forks (Showa Bending Valve) and possibly improved rear shocks.
Can anyone comment?
Thanks,
Bob

engine i would say its the same. hmm standard has only 5speed ? ..but the suspensions are real different....and the slip clutch of cours from the 17.........and the saddle is somehow harder from the 17 to 14 DLX..the ""exhaust"" sound is too real different..

I don't have both but I do have a 2017 CB1100EX. In addition to the slightly out of phase cam timing and the bending valve forks, there are other changes, including new stainless steel rims and spokes, a new seamless gas tank, new LED headlight (in addition to an LED taillight), double walled exhaust headers to reduce discoloration, an aluminum chain guard and a host of other trim and finish and fueling changes.

The 2017 is a great looking bike but I still would prefer the alloy tubeless wheels, suspension better on the 2017 but in my opinion the 2014 DLX is the nicest looking one because of the all silver engine. .Slipper clutch ok but no deal breaker for me . I never use the sixth gear on any of my bikes.

Some countries did not get a big tank with the '14 CB. But, got the six speed tranny. I find myself using mostly the 4th and 5th anyway.

The DLX.looks nice, but l prefer the blacked out standard with the alloy wheels. I'm not concerned with the differences when leaving my buddies in the dust.

The only pain with black is the same with cars: Black appears to show scratches, and such, soooo easily.
In contrast, for example, the metallic red not so much.
