Indeed it was! I have a video taken by a friend riding in a Guzzi sidecar rig. What a great howl that engine emitted as I passed them. Think I'll go pop that in now! The K12 was a totally different machine than my first couple of K100s.

For years the Germans honored a pledge to build nothing with greater than 100hp. The factory rated the K1200 RS at 130hp. She was heavy, but she'd run!

Yep, heavy (about 600 lbs.) but not much heavier than my DLX. Still, an awesome machine. I once saw an indicated 155 mph on mine (but just once!). Those speeds were nerve-wracking for this amateur enthusiast. But at 100 mph, the K12 was electric smooth, stable, and surreal.
