Corbin seat arrived today

I ordered my Corbin on August 12th, finally arrived today. Due to my own fault when ordering on-line at their website, I accidentally did not change the "welt" field to "no welts" so i'm a little disappointed that it has black welts or "piping", but I think i'll live. It's a pretty good looking seat, not as sleek as the stock one, but definitely way more comfy. I hated that stock seat! I recall reading all the mag articles last winter and they all raved about how comfortable it was, but not for me. I slid forward all the time and my butt would go numb after about 30 minutes on it. I do kind of miss the "Honda" along the back of the seat though!

Installing it - I have read how others said they had to sit on the passenger seat to get the latch to catch. No way could I get mine to latch! I'm 180 pounds and was on my knees on it bouncing and it wouldn't latch. so I removed the two bolts that hold the catch bracket to the seat and I put thin washers under the catch and reinstalled the bolts. now it installs and latches just like the stock seat.

I only have about 10 miles on it so far, but I can tell the comfort level is much better. Now the new problem is that I need risers! The most comfortable spot on the seat is if you plant your butt all the way back so the step to the passenger pad is against your lower back. very comfy sitting there. But the bars are too far away now! I'm 5'11" so pretty average height. Time to order up some risers and get the bars into a better position. Bottom line, I give the Corbin a thumbs up.

My K&H fits like it was precision machined for the bike. A gentle push and it locks right in...

I'm guessing something went slightly wrong during Corbin's R&D on the seat, and nobody's informed them of the problem.

Like your K&H, my Cozy Seat fit perfectly too.

I shimmed my seat for easy install, I like the tight seat. my stock seat had play.. I called Corbin in July and told them about the shim fit they seemed aware of it and told me after breakin I might have to remove the shims...My seat has the pleats or tuck and roll..Corbins mistake..After riding season Corbin agreed to redo the seat with free shipping..I love my seat. Thank you Corbin

The fit with the Corbin seat is very tight in the beginning,I had the same issue with the 2 Corbin seats on my 94 and 95 CB1000 but after ashort while they will fit perfect and do not feel loose like some other after market seats.

Looking at the Corbin seat, and reading what MJ said "The most comfortable spot on the seat is if you plant your butt all the way back so the step to the passenger pad is against your lower back", I do worry about that position since I find it more natural and in better control when I sit closer to the tank, any others have thoughts on this?

I agree, I like sitting close to the tank also. Except I can't. My left knee hits the cam cover, very hot. So I scooch back a bit. Need to get those Buell footpegs to drop my feet a bit.
I got used to riding the tank on my 01 F4i. 12 years of banging my nads on that bike every day.
