2014 Deluxe side covers on 2013?

This question must have been asked before, but I wasn't able to find it. Does anyone know if the larger 2014 Deluxe side covers will fit on the 2013 bike--both in terms of physical fit and color match? I keep thinking the '14 looks like a slightly darker red, but I'm not sure.

I just photoshopped it together (had to adjust the color slightly), and if they fit/match I think I'd be tempted to go that direction....

Different red from what I understand.

Don't know if they will fit, cant imagine them not, but you never know until someone tries it

Ferret's right. The only way to know for sure is to try.

There are some subtle changes on the 2014. For instances I thought the 2014 sprocket covers would fit the 2013, but one of the mounting points changed.

The first thing out of Takashi's mouth when I told him about the sprocket was "I will give you refund", so if you don't mind the possibility of losing shipping costs you might consider ordering from Samurider. But first compare his price to the $225 or so you'll pay in the states.

Meanwhile feast on this Black Beauty, a 2014 EX with matching Chic Design cowl - a cowl which does not fit (or at least fit well) on a 2013 due to the higher headlight placement on the 2014 EX and DX:

Man, that's pretty. The silver engine and other misc. silver bits really make the black work compared to the U.S. '14 std. (though that totally blacked-out look is growing on me now that I've seen a few real-life pics).

I don't think I'm going to be the guinea pig on the side covers...I'll wait for a report from somebody who has access to both a '13 and a '14 DLX before I take that leap. If they fit, but the color doesn't match (and it sounds like it won't), I might look into the Samurider option. But honestly, I've never really had a problem with the silver covers, so...

I placed an order for the deluxe side covers back in february when the parts first went up on honda part house. I was informed they are on a nationwide backorder and they don't know when I can expect them. Still no updates.

I'm hoping the color isn't too far off from the 2013 candy glory red. I'll be sure to post photos and update everyone if I fend anything else out.

That is one good looking bike! I'm pretty sure the name of the DLX red paint is different, isn't it? It's not candy glory red, this is an indication that they probably don't match.

Yeah, I was all hot to get the '14 DLX covers for my '13, but eventually realized the difference in color. While I prefer the shape of the DLX covers, I've already got a set of side covers that don't match the tank

If the 2014 covers physically fit the 2013, I'm betting Takashi could convince Force Design to do a run in 2013 colors. Of course the covers would be fiberglass, not plastic.

As Guth mentioned in another thread, members of this forum have had a significant influence of Japanese manufacturers. Takashi has repeated said that he does far more business with CB1100 owners than any other type or make of bike.
