Retro Style Rear Carrier Box

I was looking for a cheap, detachable solution for grocery runs and this is what I came up with. I think it suits the spirit of a retro bike like the CB1100 just fine:

I figured rubber bands would be easiest to put on and take off. They're cheap, plentiful and easily replaced if one breaks. When he saw my setup, my mechanic friend suggested I should probably double them up for added security:

Rubber bands would make me worry... I'd pickup some reusable zip ties. Much more secure, still easy to put on and off.

i like it! alot
i currently use a cargo net and duffle, yours is much more similar to what my honda sl70 looked like back in the day when i ran to local market.

I wouldn't trust rubber bands for that. Get some of those black rubber bungee cords for that. I know a guy who rides from cocoa beach to Orlando with a milk create bungeed to his sportster everyday.
