Retro Style Rear Carrier Box - Scoobynut_imp - 04-01-2014 I was looking for a cheap, detachable solution for grocery runs and this is what I came up with. I think it suits the spirit of a retro bike like the CB1100 just fine: [url=http://s173.photobucket.com/user/cyrenus/media/photo16_zps8129158d.jpg.html] ![]() I figured rubber bands would be easiest to put on and take off. They're cheap, plentiful and easily replaced if one breaks. RE: Retro Style Rear Carrier Box - the Ferret - 04-01-2014 Lol..cool. Lost in the 70s.
RE: Retro Style Rear Carrier Box - kevbroce_imp - 04-01-2014 Rubber bands would make me worry... I'd pickup some reusable zip ties. Much more secure, still easy to put on and off. Wow, I'm an idiot, you win... I need some coffee!

RE: Retro Style Rear Carrier Box - scott will_imp - 04-01-2014 i like it! alot i currently use a cargo net and duffle, yours is much more similar to what my honda sl70 looked like back in the day when i ran to local market. RE: Retro Style Rear Carrier Box - Scoobynut_imp - 04-01-2014 Hey, thanks, Scott! RE: Retro Style Rear Carrier Box - scott will_imp - 04-01-2014 not a pic of my actual bike, but it was blue n white and i hauled more stuff with that bike RE: Retro Style Rear Carrier Box - Scoobynut_imp - 04-01-2014 Cool bike, Scott. I can see that rockin' a milk crate. Have you ever seen this website? This guy restores those little SLs and other Honda minibikes: http://www.marblesmotors.com/bikesforsale.htm RE: Retro Style Rear Carrier Box - dlhmatt_imp - 04-01-2014 I wouldn't trust rubber bands for that. Get some of those black rubber bungee cords for that. I know a guy who rides from cocoa beach to Orlando with a milk create bungeed to his sportster everyday. http://www.uscargocontrol.com/Flatbed-Trailer-Products/Rubber-Tarp-Straps/Rubber-Tarp-Strap-10-bundle-of-10-EPDM?gclid=CLbFp-X5v70CFVFp7AodxmcAbg RE: Retro Style Rear Carrier Box - Scoobynut_imp - 04-01-2014 Thanks for the tip, dlhmatt, I'll have to look into those things. |
