Winter Riding Setup
#1

I just installed a NC Plexistar2 for the winter. I have had these on other naked bike, it works real well on the CB.

Ventured out this morning to test the shield. Temp was 29 degrees, as soon as i put my helmet on the shield fogged up, yep it was cold. Had my heated jacket along with a 3 season windproof jacket and windproof ski pants.

The plexi2 keeps all the wind from your helmet ( no buffeting) allowing me to crack the face shield for DE-fogging. Ten minute's into the ride i lowered the heated gear to a comfortable 50% usage. My hands where cool but well protected from the wind, need to find a solution for my feet, after 50 miles they where a bit cold, thought about my heated socks but remembered how uncomfortable the wires can be on your feet.

The bike handled amazingly well through my favorite twisty road at 10mph above the speed limit. The PR3's warm up fast and no problem with snake strips with the cold temps.

I know it doesn't compliment the bike but will allow you to ride in very cold temps very comfortably. I may even try it for long summer trips.

Nice. i had one of those on my 750 Nighthawk. Probably should have bought one of those rather than the Street shield EX.

It isn't very pretty, but it's good to know it works. You have to do something if you want to ride in the cold. There were times on a couple of the trips I did with Pterodactyl earlier in the year where it approached the intolerable. You forget how harsh the cold can be when you live in a warmer climate.

On my helmet I use the pillock system. Virtually fog free even below freezing!

I just installed Bike Master heated grips from the Motorcycle Superstore on my Griso. Worked darn slick so I'm considering it for the CB. Only $54.00 before shipping.

I just ordered one for my CB1100. My CB750 always wears a Plexi 3 (same as Plexi 2, but with lowers) for winter riding. I tried fitting the Plexi 3 to the CB1100 last year, but the lowers clashed with the big turn signals. I like the lowers on the Plexi 3 (keeps my knees warmer), but I'm sure the Plexi 2 will work out fine.

I've had a few chilly rides with the NC Deflector DX that is on there now and I definitely don't want to ride for another winter with that little shield. It would be OK if I still had my old snowmobile suit Tongue

The NC Street Shield EX actually does a decent job of keeping the cold off your head and chest...but your hands are unprotected and get really cold quickly in mid 30 degree temps.
