I decided and ordered the Chip Beck spec seat today....I put around 30 miles on the stock seat and knew right away that it wasn't going to work.....I wanted the 2014 deluxe seat but figured that if my stocker wasn't going to cut it neither would it....I seriously looked and liked the K&H seat but didn't want to gamble 600 some odd dollars when I have experience with corbin and knew that it would let me ride as long as I wanted. This seat goes with this bike in my mind. Thanks Chip......Now I just have to hurry up and wait four to six weeks.......

That is a great looking seat and the price seems reasonable.

I ordered my Chip Beck replica on Feb 19th... My wife gave it to me as a Valentine's Day present... Heart She's the best!!! Thanks

Wonder how long it will take Corbin to make this look an option on line??? Or maybe put that as the default and make folks have to ask if they want to add the tuck and roll stuff. I can't wait to get mine on the bike!

Having said that, it hasn't exactly been riding weather here except for one nice sunny day last Friday... and as luck would have it, I was sitting in a dentist chair enjoying an unplanned root canal and crown instead of riding. By Saturday afternoon we had freezing rain.

Hopefully, the arrival of the Corbin will coincide with warmer weather! Biker

I expect mine around the first to middle part of April, decent weather should be in full swing right about that time, I plan on putting on a Honda stencil to give it that stock look...
then I will decide whether I need any risers to take the pressure off my back, I would love to put on some lower black handle bars, but that would work against me, the cb 500f mirrors look cool, I do have a birthday coming up....

I've obviously been having a lot of fun with my new CB1100. At some point I'd like to take this bike on a long trip up the coastline in California but after an hour or so I find the stock seat uncomfortable and I keep sliding forward. I think the stock seat on the CB1100 looks perfect on this bike however and I am loath to change it. I ride two up on a regular basis so he gunfighter type solo seat would not work for me. I have had Corbin seats built for some of my other motorcycles and have been very happy with them, especially after they break in. Their catalog offering for the CB1100 on their website looked a little too different from stock for me so I called them up and asked them if they would build a custom seat, deleting all of the tuck and roll stitching, deleting the holes, mounting brackets, and leather flaps that are incorporated in order to accommodate their optional backrest, and with no welts. I wanted the leather Corbin seat to duplicate the smooth black vinyl of the stock seat as closely as possible. They were happy to make me a seat as I requested it and did not charge me for the modifications.

Although I've only gone for a short ride so far so I cannot comment yet on long-term comfort, this seat positions me farther back, does not cause me to slide forward, the leather seating area is more comfortable than the vinyl on the stock seat, and because of its shape a much greater percentage of my butt is in contact with, and supported by, this seat and it certainly seems more comfortable so far. The passenger part of the seat is definitely more comfortable as well as being slightly higher. The cost of the seat was $453, about the same as many of the non-custom seats that are not made of genuine leather that are listed on the Japanese websites.

The first three photos below are of my new Corbin seat. The second three photos are of the stock seat taken from the same angles. The last photograph is of the standard Corbin seat for the CB1100 incorporating their tuck and roll stitching which many people may prefer. All the best.

Please lord do not ever use that seat other than super long rides. Ewwwww. IMO that belong on almost any touring bike but is a abomination on the CB.

I ordered the chip beck spec seat three weeks ago, the big brown truck came and went, and left me a seat with stitching that I didn't want like there stock version, they did leave the back rest hardware off like they were suppose too. Looks like it will be going back to california....Angry

Same exact thing happened with mine ordered on Feb 19... obviously saw the instructions to delete the backrest, etc., but completely missed the next instructions about deleting the additional stitching, etc.

After I sent them photos of what they delivered along with a copy of the shipping invoice complete with detailed custom instructions, Fed Ex picked it up at Corbin's expense the day after it arrived and i trust that the correct seat will arrive any day now, but it's going to get expensive for them if their custom guys keep missing instructions like that.

I know it will be worth the wait. Biker

70 degrees in Portland today.

I was curious if they was going to get yours right....damn.....sergio said this wasn't that uncommon of an order.....told him it wasn't his fault, he wrote it up right.....I tried hard to like the one that they sent me, even got some friends to look at it compared to the one I wanted....they all said "no way" Fed Ex is picking mine of tomorrow.....it will be worth the wait, but dang it....Thumbs Up
