Ohlins HO 239 twin shocks: Anyone use them?

After three years and 10,000 miles I'm ready to do something more than just the Ikon shocks. I need the precision of the Ohlins; if anyone's used these (the twin shocks with full adjustability and piggyback reservoir) I'd like to hear some comments. They aren't cheap but are probably worth the investment.

Problems with the Ikons are ride height cannot be precisely adjusted, and the damping adjuster only provides four widely-spaced adjustments, and both compression/rebound are increased/decreased simultaneously.

The Ikons are huge improvement over the stock shocks for any riding style, though.

They can build you anything you need when it comes to shocks. I will do just that, thank you. Not really into the gold and yellow anyway, although the shocks themselves are excellent. Penske or Works would look better with my '13 Standard.

I'm using the Ohlins and love them. Completely different bike with them on. I also have a front fork brace on that helped make hard cornering more stable as well. I had to mount them upside down though. The grab bars and mounting bolts were too close to the shock adjustment knob.

Yes, I've heard of guys doing that to make them fit.

I have the Ohlins. At the very end of last year, Ohlins USA offered them for half price. With black springs if desired. The reservoirs are a cool look, but totally unnecessary on the CB1100. They are exactly what their name suggests, "reservoirs" to allow for cooler fluid temps in extreme use conditions. Not an opinion, a design "feature" cited by engineers. I didn't get them, and the black springs make the Ohlins on my bike barely noticeable. But the shocks perform better than stock, and they are adjustable. The stock shocks are undersprung for me at 205#, and a bit harsh. Half-price Ohlins were a no-brainer for me.

Interesting. Yes, don't think a reservoir is needed for these on the CB1100. They don't seem to offer that half-price deal now. If the shock/spring is the same without the reservoir that would be much better than the Ikons, since they have compression/rebound damping and threaded spring adjustment.
