RE: ECU installed

Thanks for all the great tips.
I sent off my ECU today.
By the way, Don responded quickly to my emails, and answered the phone when I called.

I'm starting to think it's personal between Don and me.

Mate, the counseling round here's OK. I mean, you get what you pay for. Right? So, do you want to tell us exactly the exchanges you've had? For example, did you start out like an Aussie, "G'day Don ya old bast**d"? I've noticed that can upset Americans.

RE: ECU installed

Some people do better by phone or in person.....even within our IT department I find this to be true.
As mentioned before, Don had my 2013 CB1100 on his Dyno to confirm and tweak the ECU settings, chances are, anyone who sends theirs in, he will start with those settings.
If you ask for anything else, it will based on his best guess and experience, not based on his Dyno.
I LOVE what the ECU flash did for my CB1100, I'm sure others will too.

Maybe if I start with the traditional, warm Australian greeting, he'll be more likely to respond! I'll have to get over my revulsion to talking on the phone and just give him a call.

I thought someone had given Don a 2014 to put on the dyno as well. Am I mistaken?

I don't think so, as far as I know, my 13' has been the only one in his shop.
Do you think there are any tuning differences between the 13' and 14' engine/fuel/etc. that would make a difference in the ECU?
Keep in mind, his shop is in the middle of Amish country, very subdued area, some don't even have phone or electric in his area :-)

I don't know for sure but believe there may be differences due to the addition of the 6th gear. I imagine that would change things when it comes to the proper air/fuel ratios. My knowledge is limited but from what I've seen on dyno runs, specific readings are examined for each gear with adjustments made to optimize power output in each.

I'm writing a (very small) message and attaching it to my carrier pigeon. I've instructed my pigeon to deliver it to Don's guy who receives carrier pigeon messages for him. I've been told that guy works on the other side of the shop and simply yells out, "Don, you got another pigeon message!"
