Touring Conversion Complete

In order to make my bike comfortable for two and be able to share my enjoyment of riding with my wife - I decided to create a sport tourer out of my lovely 2016. A big part of the decision to buy this bike was the need for two up riding and the passenger to be out of the wind behind the rider. Job done.
From the front
Fork Brace, RLET's, 1977 Vetter Windjammer SS (1979 kawasaki police brace modified to hold it), Factory heated grips, CB500X mirrors, USB port and Ball mount for GPS, Daytona Frame sliders, kickstand enlarger, oil temperature gauge, Front sprocket down one tooth/Rear Sprocket up one tooth, Upgraded factory seat, English Honda parcel rack, 1978 Goldwing top box (holds two full face helmets), Icon rear shocks, all LED lights.

Needless to say - now we head out - pick a point of the compass and enjoy the backroads of lovely southern Ontario.

Another bike has come and gone while I have owned the CB, but by royal decree, as long as I ride - I am not allowed to sell my bike, And I couldn't be happier.

Wow! Really nice job on that. That Vetter makes me flash back to 1975 or so.

I would never have thought of putting a Gold Wing box on the CB. But it works! And most likely only you have it!! Be prepared for questions on mounting, etc.

Thanks - it isn't too a lot of tastes - but it makes two up riding so much easier, it is so nice to get somewhere and lock up both helmets and walk around with no worries.

And when its just me i get the benefit of strange looks from people that see the goldwing on the box - but attached to a bike that performs!!

Wow, that’s a very unique look. I like it. Haven’t heard of an English parcel rack. If my wife showed any inkling of wanting to ride with me, I could see doing a similar setup.

go onto the HONDA UK website - they have (or had) and accessory parcel rack that comes with a quick release HONDA top box - nice size - one full size helmet and a bit - with a padded back rest - and the parcel shelf mounts well. off and on in two seconds - that was the original solution. But having room for two full face helmets was a thought - so the goldwing box was found and repainted.

Incredible. At first it looked like an original - I suppose it is in part.

Reminds me of the Vetter Windjammer I had on my 1980 Yamaha 1100G. I bought the speaker dash for it and installed a Radio Shack AM/FM/CB radio in it. The whip antenna was mounted on the back rack and provided good radio range. The CB was used by a number of riders in our touring club for bike to bike communication. It was also useful listening to the truckers that could provide information about police, accidents, and rain.
I also installed the Vetter saddlebags and trunk on it. Not a Goldwing like Penny wanted, but a great touring bike just the same.

I rode that bike until 1982 when the Honda store owner offered me a trade-in price on a new Honda Aspencade I could not refuse. Oddly enough Penny's new helmet, leather jacket and pants that she had ordered were exactly the same colour as the bike. And there was a matching jacket for me in the right size as well. Now how did that happen?
