New YSS shocks,Hyperpro Progressive front springs,gators

So I decided on a mild suspension upgrade to suit my budget of very little...
My local YSS guy, Walter, put together some rear adjustable shocks to suit my weight, and suplied some Hyperpro progressive springs for the front forks to go with my PD emulator valves.
I had the gators ready to go, so installed them yesterday and am quite pleased with the result..the front feels alot smoother over bumps and more planted in the corners..The rears I cant really tell much of a difference ..Its pretty hard to judge bumps...Happy with the overall look and cost at @ AU$1k for the lot..

I had the fully adjustable including ride height YSS front/rear shocks upgrade on my r1200rt as recommended by the Bmw tech over the ohlins for a lot less coin $$ and for my riding style ... and they were brilliant .. I never heard of the brand before and don’t even know if they are currently operating here .. but I never had any other bike set up as well on springs / valves / oil mods.

I have never had ohlins as I am not a top class rider anyways and I really hope they work real well on the CB for your purposes especially over the stock setup

ozigoo, we try hard not to stress the little things on this forum, but I really have to draw the line at ‘gators’. Gators are crocodile-like creatures that inhabit bits of North America, so our US comrades can be excused this time. But an Aussie? I think not.

@ozigoo I know you haven't been online in a while, but I'm hoping you'll see the message and give some feedback on the YSS shocks you have as I'm looking into a set.

Having said that, has anyone else tried the YSS on their bikes? I found an affordable 380mm set (20mm longer than stock) and I'm considering them seriously. Before you say anything, I have spoken to IKON, and they take their time with delivery, I can't be bothered to order and wait, Ohlins are way out of my current budget, so that's out of the question, too.

I'm thinking I should pay attention to the chain slack with longer shocks as well. Now I'm thinking about chain and sprockets and think I could get a set in advance for when the time comes. Anyways, as usual, any input is appreciated

YSS are a very popular brand with a good value/performance ratio. I can't quite see but do those YSS shocks have a rebound damping adjuster collar at their base? If so wind them to fully damped, take a spin down the road then wind them to minimum damping and take the return trip on the same road. You will get a feel for their range and you can then set them somewhere in-between to your liking, firmer or plusher.

If anyone is considering new rear shocks I would as a minimum getting some with adjustable rebound damping, preload adjustment is a given.

Personally I would not do this Tod. You have to ask yourself what is to be gained with that extra 20mm? You are going to lift the rear of the bike and shorten your trail changing the way the bike handles. You might find it is OK for you but you might find it is very much less than ideal. Just because the shock is 20mm longer doesn't mean it has 20mm more travel either.

As for the last sentence, I agree, I sent an inquiry about actual travel of the shocks as it's not stated clearly on the webpage. Hope they will clarify this.
As for the geometry I'm perfectly alright with shortening the trail, especially because I'm going with the 120/160 tires. I've already dropped the triple clamps by 1cm, and my preload is maxed on on the rear, and I still feel like there is too much squat out of turns and I would like more more weight on my arms, I feel like I'm sitting way too much. I understand it's a personal preference, this bike is being built for me specifically and they way I ride
