I have not gotten on the Motus yet. Mrs. Futterman has been in commander mode lately on the house / yard projects and my time hasn't been my own. I think I will be going over with my riding mentor when he gets back from his 3-week ride from Missoula, MT to Fairbanks, Alaska on a KLR650. He shipped the bike out there and will leave it on consignment in AK. He hit the road Saturday morning and should make it to Watson Lake, Yukon Territory tonight.

wouldn't want one as a gift
my VTX1800S scared me so bad in a turn with early foot peg drag and seeing a guard rail i couldn't finish watching the vid.
other than that i would need help backing it out of the garage unless it had an electric reverse like the pig of a 1500 Goldwing i had. [ the 1000 was fantastic BTW ]
this CB1100 is as heavy of a bike as i would ever want and with a full 4.7 Gal tank of gas it can be a beast leaning it over at 65YO. JMO

I kind of like the scoops and headlights, but not interest in a V-Twin. I wouldn't turn down a ride on one though ;-)

Of all the bikes I have seen on the road the last 3 years, a 2008 VTX1800T was the most beautiful. Nice sound as he road away as well.



I was so taken by it, I went into my dealer to see if they had one. No but they let me sit on a VTX1200. Lifting it off the side stand made me realize it was not the motorcycle for my energetic rides through the twisties.

My 1982 Aspencade Goldwing was the Cadillac of motorcycles. Although it weighed almost 700 pounds, the 1200cc flat four and fuel tank under the seat made it bottom heavy. So I found it easy to maneuver. The only problem I had was scraping aftermarket floorboards on twisty roads, so I sold them to a club member.

I wish Honda would bring out another "mini wing" like the mid 80s Apencade using that 1200 Wing Motor. That was a fine touring bike and not as humongous as the 1500 & 1600 6 cylinders

The '82 also had a strong 6th gear. I could haul a tent trailer up and down the hills of Vermont without changing gears. When they changed 6th in '83 to get better gas mileage, it required shifting up and down hills.

Certainly the most comfortable motorcycle I have ever ridden. The fairing eliminated both the wind blast and noise. The engine was smooth and exhaust quiet. Both the rider and passenger seats were comfortable enough for day long journeys. The front and rear shocks were air adjustable with a air pump button and gauge on the false fuel tank.

Loved the maintenance free shaft drive. No greasy bottom or rear wheel on a Goldwing.

Stopped for breakfast at McDonalds on a previous ride. A Goldwing rider came over to ask about my CB. About 10 minutes later he whooshed by me on the highway, although I was 20 KPH above the speed limit. That was moment I decided to buy a windscreen for the EX. Hope to pick it up tomorrow.

I like this new Yamaha aesthetically, but they are just TOOOO Heavy. I rode the new Valkyrie so I am spoiled by THAT motor. Smooooth. Nice rumble. Friend on his second one and he never gets off the thing.
