It's an intriguing motorcycle. I'm not a huge v-twin fan and that seems to be one of the features they liked about it. I liked the styling for the most part; sort of the best of the big Harleys combined with the best of the Goldwing. Looks like a very comfortable touring bike, but I have to wonder what it would be like rounding those hairpins on AR123 on one. If it is priced much lower than the Goldwing, I would say it's a great alternative. If it's priced close to the Wing, I'd have to ride them both to see which I liked better. --- but I'm not really in the market for a pure touring bike.

One more thing....if the seat is low enough, it could be a great bike for my friend (Bumpstart) Mike.

Not impressed at all. Just another cruiser with some touring goodies added. Wet weight of 957lbs and class leading torque; that torque will be needed to move this tank around. That it is a Yamaha means it will be a comfortable and reliable machine but I was hoping for something displaying real innovation. Can't believe I actually waited till 7 to watch this. What a letdown.

Sea it lists for 24-26K

They never mentioned cruise (that I heard) but surely it has it. They also never mentioned shaft or belt. I assume belt.

I told my wife they also never mentioned the warranty (it's 12/12 but you can buy 4 more years for 5 total)

Buffet free wind protection for rider and passenger? we will see lol

Air cooled, that was interesting with Harley going to partial water cooling.

2 amps for lotsa watts

It's way too much bike for me but in terms of what they were going for regarding the marketing mission for the bike, I'd call it a home run. This is a bike that someone wanting more (and more up-to-date) features than a touring Harley and something with more character than a BMW K1600 with even more more bells and whistles than the Germans could think up.

I like it. I can't believe I'm saying that, but I like it. I think its logical competition is (was) the Victory Vision Tourer, which I never cared for. This one actually looks pretty good.

Me thinks this is what BMW was after, ten years ago, with their ill-fated and unfortunate R1200CLC.

Ferret, here is a link for specs: https://www.yamahamotorsports.com/transcontinental-touring/models/2018/star-venture

If you dig down, it has ride by wire and integrated cruise control, among a bunch of other stuff.

About the video. Nice landscape. I've seen a video from another manufacturer(Motus?) that was a lot like this one. I'm fortunate that I've ridden most of those roads and several are geographically close to me.

About the look of the bike: I like the look of the four headlights partially covered by the brim of the fairing. Reminds me of the look BMW sedans have as of late and for sure I like it much better than the Harley two headlight fairing on some of their bigger bikes.

About the bike in general: 957 pounds wet and unloaded. I would think for most folks buying this it's specifically for two up riding. Add the requisite touring gear for 2 in the saddle bags and top box and that bike will easily top 1K pounds. Good Lord!. Never mind cruise, belt, or shaft. The more important question is DOES IT HAVE REVERSE?

So, not my cup of tea as I never ride two up. I've toyed with the idea of an F6B on occasion due to the borderline blow out price quoted by my dealer on some left over 2013's last year. At 844 pounds fully tanked up the F6B is positively svelte compared to this beast.
