lol - it's worse Ferret. It is £12.50, which is about $16.45 U.S. today.

Nope everyone pays including bikes.

Yep, or you can open an account and they will charge you automatically every day that you ride in town.

That's in addition to the £11.50 'Congestion Charge' that all vehicles (thankfully except Motorcycles) have to pay when they enter the city.

I'm all for cleaner air and reduced emissions but that all sounds a bit ridiculous.

Also what is the significance of 2007...?

In North America they could greatly improve air quality by getting diesel pick-up trucks to tune-up their vehicles. It is sooooooooooo Dodgy suffocating riding / trapped behind them.

I read an article the other day that owners of large diesel pickups were intentionally tuning them so that the would blow a large cloud of black smoke when the accelerator is floored. Sure enough, Youtube is chock full of videos of these guys blowing big clouds of smoke on vehicles behind them. Apparently, it's the "cool" thing to do. It's called "Rolling Coal".

Really? That is so not cool.

That is like for everyone behind, "Here is a lung full of cancer" (for 15 years down the road).

Yea, I've seen them around here. I've also seen unfortunate vehicles that happened to be behind them spattered in black dots from the unburned deisel. Real cool.
