The Ducati and Moto Guzzi guys have a rogue freeware software package called ducatidiag and guzzidiag. It will read the variables the ECU is reading and you can adjust some of them, including the TPS. When I burn in a new map I have to reset the TPS and sometimes play with the CO setting; all within the guzzidiag software. On the Guzzi side it's mostly Griso folks.
Other software is used to pull off maps, push new ones on to the ECU and edit maps. You also need a template so the software knows what the meaning of the values it is displaying and that is where all the fun is, creating that template. Different ECU's use different templates (I imagine ECU's shared over a family of motors could be different with some engines using parts of the ECU memory that others do not).

In my quest for economically adding a LITTLE bit more sound, and improving near perfect running, I drilled a 3/4" hole in the rear baffle 10" inside the exhaust outlet. Then trying to address the slight surging around 2000 rpm, most noticeable when slowly revving the engine under no load, but sometimes noticeable under load I added a 1.5K ohm resistor in series with the Gray/Blue wire for the IAT sensor. So far, ONLY SEAT of the PANTS, results are just a bit more exhaust noise on the road( I like not real loud ) and slightly better throttle response. ( more eager / make sense?). The 1.5K ohm resistor should have the greater effect at higher IAT temps and little to none at lower temps. The slight surging under load seems to have gone and when revving the engine slowly not under load is hardly noticeable. Mileage seems unchanged at about 50MPG. IMHO the exhaust is the most restrictive part of the engine. Many small diesel engines , twice the size of the CB, run filters similar in size and design with no noticeable problems, until very dirty, and diesels require a lot more air than gas ( until full throttle ) as they are compression ignition and have no throttle plates.

CBXBob, appreciate you posting that. Have a request-if it is not too much trouble; please post pictures of the baffle hole so we can see where it is at and the 1.5k ohm resistor as installed. Both the stuttling (or whatever it's called) and the desire for a bit more sound are both things I'd be interested in.

Just look down the tailpipe with a light and the baffle is about 10'" deep you can see it. It is just like a wall slightly off center due to slant of the pipe. There is also one on the inlet of the muffler. The muffler comes off by removing the mount bolt, loosening the clamp on the inlet and twisting slightly. The IAT sensor is under the left side cover. it is the most forward plug facing in.the other plugs face fore and aft. I will try pics but don't have much luck transferring from the camera to the forum.

You might have to get the pics off your phone and on to a PC? Or you could try using an app like Tapatalk which may (I don't know) compress the photos as it uploads them. Or you could get the Photobucket app and see if you can upload pictures there and the link to them. Makes me realise I'm grateful I use a camera most of the time and deal with pictures through the PC.
