Hello,
I will be replacing the cover on the left side of the crank case. I do not see any gasket shown in any parts sites. Is a gasket needed, or do I just use Yamabond?

I am in same situation as Kevin. So Hondabond can be used as a
substitute for gasket? I tried to remove the original
Crank case but it seems well bonded to the
Engine case despite removing the bolts. Do
I knock it off by gently tapping it with a
Hammer? What is the best way to take the
Original crank case off when replacing it
With silver polished one I bought from
Samurider. Please let me know. Thanks

Be aware that the ACG exerts quite a bit of pull so that may contribute to the problem of getting cover off. Not to mention the locating dowels that ensure that moving parts don't touch stationary parts.
As far as sealing the cover goes, Honda has been using Hondabond on certain covers for quite some time now.
Make sure you get all the old stuff off and apply the new stuff very sparingly. Less is more. You just want an even, paper thin film. Any excess will be sqeezed out and can end up inside the engine. I've seen engines ruined due to excess sealant blocking vital oil passages.
Also, when you put the cover back on the magnets will try to yank the cover out of your hands. If your finger tips are wrapped around the edge it will hurt, I guarantee it. I think there is even a warning in the service manual to that effect.
