LOL!
I think Chync was replying to Peter, not me, in the above post. Sorry Chync. I though you were talking to me.
Peter, most of us have stainless steel headers, as Chync said. Retsel’s Jet-Hot is awesome and I wish I had it. Instead of brown SS headers...
So, what is plasticine?

Popgun, this is funny,,..English Is my 3rd learnt language..., and I had to use an online translator to make sure, I used the correct word.....and plasticine is a soft modeling material, used especially by children
I visited Virginia Beach 2x so far...thinking of the 3rd one , after Ohio

I think most of us over here know it as Play-Doh, a brand name for childrens’ soft modeling clay. Everybody knows what Play-Doh is
Hope you like VB. I like Savannah, Ga.

Plasticine never hardens whereas Play doh, which is a different compound, does.

Bugs get baked on the chrome headers of my 2017 CB1100 EX. I tried a number of modern cleaners and polishes to remove them, but no luck. So I went bought some [url=http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/autosol-metal-polish-0392954p.html#srp]Autosol Metal Polish at Canadian Tire. Its something I have used on chrome motorcycles headers since the 60s.
You will need some rubber gloves and some old socks. Spread a line of Autosol down the header, and spread it around with a glove. Let it sit for a couple of minutes. Wrap a sock around the header, twice if it is stretchy. Pull the sock back and forth and slowly roll it up and down the header. The sock will turn black, but your headers will come clean and shiny.

I used Jet Hot to coat my headers. It’s been a good compromise all things considered.
