Hi Gang-
I took great care as I'm sure all proud owners did breaking her in and changed my oil 2x w/ the suggested 10w30 Honda. So at 2100 miles I changed to the Amsoil 10w40 full synthetic and I gotta say this is feeling smoother and faster. I have a pretty good imagination but in this case I think it's the real deal. Could this oil truly have a performance impact? So those thinking about it I just wanted to share my experience and I can say I'm lov'n it...even more. Stay safe & hyper alert out there!

I suppose its possible. Anything that reduces friction allows things to run smoother, rev higher, transmissions shift better...Can't say definitively, but if you think so, that's really all that matters.

was the 10/30 Full Synthetic too? At 600 miles I did my first oil change with Honda Full Syn 10/30, seemed like shifts were smoother and took less effort.
So...if full synthetic can help performance....I would think the 10/30 would have less drag than 10/40...being slightly thinner, right?

The first two I used the regular petroleum 10w30. I was initially thinking to stay w/ 10w30 when switching to synthetic, but the dealership only carries the 40 and suggested this for Carolina weather.

I mostly use Honda GN4 10W40. I have also used many times Motul 5100 10W40. The 5100 did appear to have a positive affect on gear change action. I would say it felt smoother. I would consider Shell T4 or T6 in the appropriate grade.

Not surprised. The oil does take an extra beating not just from higher average engine revs, but from the wet clutch. Synthetic is insurance.
