A footpad that's always on the bike has its attractions, but beware the hazards of overly large side stand feet. Besides reducing parked lean angle, wider feet proscribe a larger arc and can hit the pavement before the side stand is set. They can also give you a false sense of security. I know this because I dropped one of my bikes twice. The foot was flat with the ground but the side stand hadn't gone past vertical. The slight downward pitch of the ground was all it took for the bike to roll forward and hit the dirt 20 seconds after I walked away. My NC700X no longer wears a foot pad.

The CB1100 has a relatively small side stand foot, and it's sunk in the dirt or grass on many occasions. I decided to make my own low profile pad and have so far escaped any negative consequences.

I used 1/8" aluminum. Bottom flat plate, middle plate the fits the contour of the side stand foot, and a top plate that overlaps the foot. Flat head machine bolts secure the 3 plates.

It won't hold up the bike in wet sand but doubles the OEM footprint.

I was thinking the same thing Steve, except that I was thinking about using rivets instead of bolts. It might mean removing the side stand, but it would be a clean look.

You've heard right, popgun!

It's now a hard question to answer. Once upon a time, unless you were a traitor, it was the draft beer produced by your local brewery. An exotic beer was one from another state. The big corporates started buying breweries and the beer became homogenous until the whole craft beer thing caught on. Now you can find any number of good craft beers depending on your taste. Of the 'big' brewery stuff, Coopers from South Australia make a good drop.

As for Fosters, there was a time when it was common; nowadays I seldom see it. I suspect most of it goes to Europe, the UK and the US and you are all very welcome to it. Similarly, you can hang on to Budweiser.

If I sound like I know what I'm talking about, I don't. Once when I was away riding with Pterodactyl, I ordered a craft(ish) beer in a pub. He asked me whether I could tell the difference between it and the mass-produced concoction he was drinking. Of course, I said, so he put me to the test. I failed.
