They are the Ohlins shocks I have on my 2013 CB 1100, including the chrome springs.
I will also put them on my 2014 very soon ,paid $ 850 including a one step upgrade on the spring because of my weight (215 now)

Yes, I like those. And the name makes me all fluffy. But the price hurts me. Your EURO & our U.S. Dollar are not that friendly right now. If Switzerland is near Ukraine, maybe you could hop over there and get me a good deal on a set of Ohlins that fell off the back of a military vehicle ?
Those are beautiful shocks ! Thanks for making me jealous . Rocket
Houtman: OK, I'm getting weak. Where did you get those shocks for $850. ?

I bought them local from Fastbikeindustries, a privately owned shop rebuilding and selling Ohlins shocks for mainly race bikes.
It was a cash deal , no tax and I picked them up as he is close to me (and the Ohlins head quarters in Hendersonville NC.)
I had bought already bought 4 other sets for CBX and CB 1000 Hondas.
If you are interested I can call him and see if I can get the same deal and I will send them to you.

Eliminating the $1100. Ohlins, does anyone have any experience with alternative shocks that they would recommend ? Thanks, Rocket
Rocket,
Not sure which tires your bike came with but my stock BT54's where hard as a rock. Coming off sport-bikes the combo of suspension and upright riding position was uncomfortable over e regular road conditions. I was thinking of switching out the shocks until i put a set of Michelin Pilot road 3's on the bike. They softened the ride considerable. The sidewall of the BT54's are so hard when dismounted they feel like there's 20lbs of air in them. Its not going to help rebound which the shocks a lacking but will give you a much better feel of the road.
Had i known this when i bought the bike i would have changed them out.

CIP57: I agree with your assessment of the Bridgestone's. They certainly add to the jolt problem. The bike is so smooth that I have a lot of time to think about what exactly is happening and the tires were high on my list. Glad to hear that someone else has confirmed my thoughts. I'm sure others might be happy with hard tires that last a long time, but I'm not. Since my original 81 Yamaha Seca, I have known that the OEM's use pretty cheap tires. Again, to control the retail price. I'm OK with that. We all have an opinion. Rocket

Plus one on IKONs. Terrific value for the money. My $800+Ohlins are only slightly better. Both are superior to the shocks.

Agreed, CIP. I have had the RP3s on for a few thousand kms and the more I ride them the more I like them. Softer ride than the Bridgies. I put in over 400kms today of which a considerable amount was hard at work on some serious bends chasing a man who is very fast. Some inconsistent surface tested the suspension. Aftermarkets would be good but the Michelins have, in my subjective assessment, improved the ride to the point where I wouldn't spend the money. How the Michelins wear will be interesting indeed.
Cheers.

P,
I have 4000 on my PR3's and the rear shows no wear or flat spot, the front has no cupping and such a small flat spot almost not worth mentioning. I usually get 5000 out of tires i can easily see these going to 8000.
