I was sizing these bolts to buy hex socket bits for my new torque wrench. Well the specs say these bolts are 8mm. To verify size, I put 8mm allen wrench in the bolt head and it is a wobbly fit (like someone rounded out the head with a sae size). Tried aother 8mm wrench ... same problem. Inside of head looks ok so I am baffled. Have any other CB1100 owners encountered this?
The bolts are 8mm but the Allen hex size is 6mm. Fit may be different depending on tool quality, but there is a little sloppiness. This is a bolt I would not use an impact on because it tends to loosen the fit up more.
When the fit is loose, I put a piece of paper over the hole and push the hex bit in. It does take up enough slack to reduce rounding and damage.
