A quick thank you to all contributors. I looked at this bike for two years and found a used cream puff with low miles. I was initially disappointed with the buzziness. If I hadn't read this thread prior to the test ride, I would not have purchased the CB1100.

I installed the front and rear sprockets after only 300 miles and absolutely love everything about the new gearing. It is hard to understand why it didn't come from the factory this way.
