rear brake question

Since the rear brakes are responsible for less than 10 or 20% of stopping power, that might explain why for many decades many motorcycle manufacturers still used a rear drum brake. Certainly too much brake power can result in rear wheel lock-up. The ol' '76 Yamaha RD400 had a beefy rear disk and it was pretty strong for a light bike and was easy to lock-up. Today's rear disks, by comparison, appear more anemic - kinda like a drum brake.
