In this very hot country, asphalt is often so soft in the summer that a smaller sidestand will sink into it far enough to let the bike fall over. The PVC piece is ideal, though I would go for something a bit smaller that I could stow more conveniently when riding without luggage. And just a side-note - any biker who hasn't had a bit of asphalt and/or pebbles stuck in his/her "panties" just isn't trying. Big Grin:
