Every now and then your main stand cannot be used (or you don't have one). And after arrival the ground seems too soft for the side stand, and there ain't no better place anyway. So you need to bring something on your trip that
- fits under the side-stand
- is solid and large enough
- fits in your luggage (ideally zero weight and volume)
- AND will not let the side-stand and eventually the motorcycle slip and slide.
How can this be found ? A ceramic tile, a stone, a tree trunk ? Remember, you are trying to square the circle, put a square peg ... into your saddle bag.
The part shown below you will find in every DIY shop, an end piece for a PVC drainage pipe, typically 10 or 11 cm in diameter (or similar diameter in the U.S.). It is extremely sturdy, weighs close to nothing and ... oh miracle, its effective volume is zero. Just fill it with socks, or a T-shirt.
