It's not necessary to disassemble an entire engine to discern the proper amount of oil needed to fill a CB1100... LOL
But it's important to know that the Owners Manual for the CB1100 is inaccurate.
If the correct fill quantity was known to be less than 4 quarts, why did people on this forum (and my Honda dealer) continue to preach (and install) 4+ quarts?
And until this thread, I haven't seen anyone else addressing the inaccurate manual or the correct fill amount.
If this was common knowledge before, then please pardon me for resharing common knowledge that my dealership and I initially missed.
Hopefully others will be able to avoid the same mistakes.
For the pro mechanics here who already know everything about the CB1100, thanks for your patience while us amateurs figure it out as we go.
