I had the same situation as you did A-man, except I put in a new one. Black screws hidden in a dark cavern. (I have a new appreciation for whomever invented the magnetic end to a telescopic shaft.) I dropped one of the screws and saw it but couldn’t reach it. The whole ordeal is like putting a square peg in a round hole covered with wiring “just long enough” to serve its intended function.
The same Honda employee must design all air filter locations. Replacing one on a Goldwing is multi-hour job. Just watching the you-tube video is intimidating. I’m a few thousand miles away from that as of now thank goodness.
