Unfortunately, my '14 DLX seems to be among the unlucky few who are having high-idle issues. Ugh! On the (perhaps?) plus side, I've had no low-idle or stalling issues. After riding around town and getting the engine good and warmed up, it consistently wants to idle at just under 1500 RPMs and rarely, if ever, drops down to the spec'd 1100.
There's already been plenty of discussion about what the likely issue is (faulty IACV) and how to fix it (replace IACV), so I won't go into that here. My question is this...
Two friends and I are embarking on a road trip around Lake Superior in a week and a half. Do I absolutely need to get this resolved before we leave? or is it just a nuisance that I can live with until after we get back? I'm a reasonably accomplished garage mechanic and intend to DIY this. But how urgent is it? Please advise. Thanks.
