"We actually opted to not reset the ecu untill after the new IAC ( Idle air control) installation. Once the new valve was installed we started the bike to let it relearn the parameters, and idle went perfectly back to 1100 rpm. after a few other diagnostics we then reset the ecm again, So the new IAC did solve the problem."
Is the idle speed instability considered one problem or 3 completely different problems?
1. High idle only; very ridable
2. Low-idle and stalling unridable
3. Combination low+ high rpm+stalling unridable
And which does the IAV cure?
Low idle does not always result in stalling for a number of us with low idle / low + high idle issues. Mine has stalled only once, and that's because I didn't realize it was at low idle and so I didn't give it enough gas to compensate as I let clutch out. I believe Riko asked a few times what happens when the throttle is blipped at low rpm @ 500. His would always stall. I don't do that, so I don't know. My low idle holds at 500, and when I take off, it goes. Most times it hits a low of 600 and then creeeeeeeeps up to 700, 750, maybe to even 900.
And someone correct me if I'm wrong, one member had the IAVC replaced and it did not correct the problem. And this is why I'm toying with the idea of having the dealership do a diagnostic to see whether they ID the IAVC as the problem.
