CB1100 Idle speed instability problem

My fingers were crossed that maybe the low idle had fixed itself...ha!! Went for a nice long 290 mile ride today. At about08 miles into the ride, the low idle issue came back, and the new baseline became around 650-700rpm. Never stalling. At 115 miles, stopped for gas and did the throttle reset. Bike sat 15 minutes for a coffee break and for the next 160 miles, no issues at all, steady at 1000 for every stop. Daytime temps around 80, mostly hiway riding, but a good 15-20 miles in slow moving traffic as well. Mischevious bike it is. Will probably try a battery disconnect next, and test to see its strength...seem to recall some thinking low battery could be a trigger. On the bright side, no return to the high idle of 1500 since it went away.
