It's fun trying to make it happen when it won't. Tonight I thought I'd try a cool evening, hiway ride and expected the bike to behave, and it did. I did the throttle reset once again, added another 4oz seafoam (third tank w/ foam since high idle developed) and idle settled right in at 1000 once it was warmed up (within a mile). 25 miles of mostly hiway riding at 60-80mph, then 4-5 miles home on city streets and no idle problems neither high nor low.
This issue aside, at 9400 miles, this is still a fun bike to ride. It's taken me awhile to get used to its low key muffler, but now I like it fine. I've got all fall, winter and spring to fiddle with this, talk to dealer, and generally just see how it's going to play out for a number of months. Next summer, I hope to be riding it for another OR to mid-west trip, idle problems or no.
