While I have no grounds to confirm this, I can't see how it could be considered more stable on the highway. Was any of the geometry changed? Maybe the extra weight & lower cruise rpm helps it feel better planted.

The 6th gear would be really nice. I've been wondering if a 6-spd gearbox could be installed on a 2013.
(But even if so, I can't imagine it would be worth whatever Honda charges for a new box).

Regardless, I'm still totally happy with the bike. It treats me quite well.
