valve timing inaccuracy?

I'm also wondering what a "too perfect" engine would feel like. Sounds kind of nice to me.

Probably something like the old CB1100XX in-line 4 engine. It has dual counterbalancers as compared to the CB1100's single counterbalancer. I spent so much time on that bike (~75,000+ miles) that I had forgotten that in-line 4s have any kind of vibration... The CB1100 has reminded me but I'm glad Honda elected to have the single balancer instead of no balancer at all, keeps the tint in the rose colored glasses :-)
