After replacing my rear tire a few weeks ago, during my first ride on the new tire I felt an unusual amount of engine vibration at speeds over about 40 mph, which is uncharacteristic for this bike. Checking the wheel alignment, I discovered the chain had about 2" of slack. Somehow it must have loosened when I was tightening the axle nut.
I readjusted the chain to 1 1/4" and tightened everything back up. Despite today's crappy weather, I took the bike out for a short ride and voila! the vibration is gone. And ooooh, now the bike has that new tire smell! Love it.
