Wow, crazy story. It's been in the 20's here, so a ride on the back of a stranger's 883 beats the heck out of what I'm able to do.
Curious about your oil filter. Is that a second gasket peeking out from behind it? If so, is it left over from the previous filter? Or, was the filter over-tightened and that's the gasket squishing out?
